About The Author

Hello everyone!

I'm Gaurav Rai, just an average guy in your neighborhood. Born and raised in the beautiful land of Himalayas—Nepal, now trying to figure out my way through the hustle of Canadian life in Brampton, Ontario. If you've stumbled onto Savings & Sarcasm, I'm the guy behind the blogs that you've probably been chuckling at. Nope, I haven't cracked the code to ultimate financial freedom yet, but the hustle is on—one post at a time.

You might be asking to yourself, "Why should I even listen to some random guy who keeps preaching and laughing about money like he knows something that we don't?" Here me out—I've been making financial blunders all my life and watched people around me doing the same thing. It was hilarious to me because I knew exactly where they were headed..

Savings & Sarcasm exists because it is the result of years of watching myself and the people around me fumble through finances. I know the struggles of those "I'll start saving from next month" promises turning into a 2 Am amazon purchase not because of necessity but just because it looked good. But truth to be told, the information on good personal finance isn't hard to find. It's just that most of it sounds like some boring financial textbooks with tons of technical terms, and honestly, no one's got time for that. And I'm not writing anything new. I'm not reinventing the wheel here. I write about the same finance stuff that’s been around forever—investment ideas, saving tips, budgeting. Everything that you already know exist but in a way that you don't fall asleep.

This blog is my take on making financial advice real, relatable and most importantly–fun. I'm not here to preach about cutting out on your essentials. instead, I'm here to point out the obvious, share a laugh and give you a no-BS tips on navigating the chaotic world of personal finance. I'm not here writing blogs for some multi-million dollar company. I'm just writing about what normal people like you and me come across in our households in our everyday lives.

So, if you're tired of reading stuffy, complicated financial jargon and want to laugh at some of your own financial blunders while learning a thing or two along the way—welcome to Savings & Sarcasm.

Glad you found your way here. 😊
